Laura S. Miller, O.D.
“I absolutely love being an optometrist and getting to know my patients personally! Practicing as a low vision specialist is incredibly rewarding. I enjoy helping children and adults be able to function better in their daily lives by improving their visual functioning with low vision aids. I also really delight in the challenges of fitting difficult contact patients, helping treat my patient’s eye disease and watching a child see clearly through their first pair of glasses. I have been truly blessed with a great family, wonderful staff and awesome patients! I would love to have you as a new patient in the practice.”

Jennifer Wood, O.D., F.A.A.O
Dr. Wood came to the field of optometry via opting out of veterinary school. After 17 years of practice, she is still very thankful to the little terrier that persuaded her towards an alternate profession. Eyes don’t bite!
Dr. Wood enjoys working with patients of all ages, with an emphasis on the visually impaired. She brings over 15 years of experience within the specialty of low vison rehabilitation. After graduating from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2001, she completed a residency in low vision rehabilitation. Following her residency, she was a research Fellow at the Western Blind Rehabilitation Center, a division of the Palo Alto VA Health Care System. One of the many studies she participated in investigated neural plasticity of the visual cortex and its possible implications on eccentric viewing. After finishing the two-year position, she traveled across country and became the Director of Low Vision Services for a busy retinal practice in Lexington, Kentucky. She also served visually impaired students at the Kentucky School for the Blind for over six years. Dr. Wood finds it both humbling and restorative to assist patients with their sight.
She is licensed in Texas as both a therapeutic optometrist and an optometric glaucoma specialist and maintains active membership in the American Academy of Optometry.
When she isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, her three rascally boys and her two dogs. Now a bit wiser, she has learned to stay clear of their mouths.
